Upcoming Changes to the Blog!

Glamourviews is going through some changes right now.  So don't be alarmed and think you went to the wrong place!  It's getting all new graphics, banners, buttons and more.  Even a new name!  That's right!  I am coordinating the blog brand to the business brand so that it all goes together nicely.  I will also be adding new types of blog posts, so it won't all be about beauty.  Some of the new posts may include organizing, DIY, and decorating tips.  As well as some stuff for Mom's, group challenges and giveaways.  But the main focus will still be beauty with the biggest emphasis on Makeup Artistry.  So stay tuned for all of these exciting things! The biggest help I can get from you now is to share this blog with people you know so that I can reach my goal of 100 readers!  There will also be a Pinterest button installed on the blog so that you can share the pictures and ideas.  But for now you can use your own installed Pin It button on your browser.  Thank you everyone for you support!  XOXO

Winner of the Bride's Choice Awards 2012!!

I am very excited to officially announce that I have won the Bride's Choice Awards for 2012!!  This means I am in the top 5% of wedding pro's nationwide.  I could not have done it without your reviews, so thank you thank you so much!  It's a nice ending to the incredible year I had in 2011.  Now, onwards to 2012!  I plan on making this year even better!

Now Offering Airbrush Makeup and Hairstyling for Weddings!

I am so excited that I am now offering hairstyling and airbrush makeup to my services for 2012! 


Airbrush makeup is essential if you live in hotter and more humid areas such as Sacramento.  Airbrush makeup is so light weight yet covers pretty much any imperfection while lasting up to 12-24 hours.  You won't ever get oily and you will have a matte to satin finish that is flawless.  Not to mention airbrushing is so sanitary since the airbrush never touches your face and the makeup is never cross contaminated.  Check out my website for pricing information here. 


I am also pleased to announce that I have added hairstyling to my services as well.  I have partnered up with the amazing Carrie B. Mac for larger parties.  And I will do makeup and hair for smaller groups.  I have worked with Carrie on many many occasions from bridal to high fashion.  She is so talented at what she does.  Makeup is my first love and so hairstyling is an added feature to my makeup services.  This works well for brides that want one person to handle it all.  Or if it is a much smaller group and the minimum for travel hasn't been met, this is a good option.  Check out the pricing information here.

2012 - The Best Year Ever!!

I am really looking forward to 2012.  I know that this year will be even better then 2011 and I have so many exciting things planned!  2011 was an incredible year for my Makeup Artist Business.  Here are my highlights of 2011:

1. I did more photoshoots and weddings then ever.
2. Published in Bay Fashion Magazine's largest ever Swim Suit Edition.
3. My first ever Satellite Media Tour.
4. Makeup for Kennie's Doll Spring and Summer's lines.
5. Record number of workshops and private lessons.
6. Became a PRO member with MAC Cosmetics and Make Up Forever.
7. Started to do a few video tutorials to help my followers learn more makeup tips.
8. Posted consistently on my blog providing tips, reviews, and tutorials.
9. Finally started marketing my business with huge support on Facebook (almost 300 fans in one year!), YouTube and my blog.  Also I received incredible reviews on Yelp and the Wedding Wire Network. 
10.  As seen on www.marthastewartweddings.com, www.projectwedding.com, www.brides.com, www.bestcityweddings.com, www.weddingaces.com, www.weddingbee.com and now www.eventwire.com!
11. Built an incredible portfolio and made so many new friends along the way with hairstylists, photographers, and models.

Wow!  I look back on that list and I think "I really made some headway this year.  That is amazing!".  I am really really proud of this and I thank you for all your support and love along the way.    Now it's onward to 2012 and I know this year will trump 2011.  Some of my goals for the New Year are:

1. Become Airbrush Certified.  (My class starts Jan 8th and 9th in LA!  I am soooo excited!)
2. Offer Hair Services and be a one stop place for my Brides.  I've partnered up with Carrie B. Mac Hair and she is amazing.  Simple styling will be done by me as I get more fully trained.
3. Become a Makeup Artist Pro member and attend the largest Makeup Artist show in the country, IMATS, in June.
4. Do more weddings and photoshoots then what I did in 2011.
5. Get published 2 more times.
6. Do more workshops and private lessons.
7. More marketing and networking for my Makeup Artist and Hair business.
8. Learn more and gain more experience though classes and on the job learning.
9. Post consistently on YouTube - once or twice a week, to teach more tutorials in a visual kind of way.
10.  Post consistently on my blog offering more to the readers.  3-4 times a week.
11.  Post tips of the week, product deals, sneak peaks, and more on Facebook.
12. Get more followers on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and my Blog. 

For 2012 I basically want to do more of the same.  And get more education and offer more services.  I am really looking forward to a successful year!  Here's to everyone for a successful and prosperous 2012!

FYI- New Rates for 2012

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to give you a heads up that my rates will be changing as of January 1st 2012.  If you have already booked me for 2012 with a deposit to hold your date then your rates will be grandfathered over.  So no worries there.  If you haven't booked your wedding for 2012 and you are not sure yet.  Please do so soon!  The spring/summer/fall and holiday weekends book so fast.  I am already getting booked for next fall.  If you book me with a signed contract and deposit cleared by December 31st, 2012 I will grandfather the rates in for you too.  Here is the new fee schedule:
