One of my favorite wedding day looks includes red lips. It is just so timeless and classic if done right. Make sure your eyes are toned down my using lighter neutral colors. Add a bit of bold by winging out your black eyeliner and adding thinker false eyelashes. Marilyn Monroe did the red lip look so perfect. So use her as your inspiration. Some woman will pair up the look with vintage hair styling. But as you can see here a soft long romantic look works well too.
Red comes in so many shades. For a wedding look go for a subdued red unless you are ultra daring and can pull off a bright red. Typically warmer toned skin looks better in orange based reds and lighter or cooler tones look best with a blue toned red. I have blue eyes and medium toned skin. So my best red is a raspberry or blue toned shade of red. Red is also very pigmented and typically in the matte range. That means it can dry out your lips and wear off in some areas more quickly then others and it can be noticeable. Use a lipgloss for extra moisture and be sure to take the tube of lipstick with you in your bag for touch ups later.
To avoid getting red lipstick on your teeth a trick from movie stars is to rub a thin layer of Vaseline along your teeth. The key here is a THIN layer! You do not want to have goopy teeth. If you mess up when applying to your lips, simply use some concealer on a concealing brush to erase your mistakes and get a perfect line. Finish off with a bit of lipgloss just in the center of your lips. And Va Va voom you have gorgeous red lips!

I'm PUBLISHED!! Bay Fashion Magazine Swim Suit Edition- Their Largest EVER!
Again, better late then never....
So I realize this was published July 2011, but I never posted it here so I have to show off! I am very proud to announce that I did the makeup on 3 beautiful Bay Area models for the largest ever Bay Fashion Magazine Swimsuit edition! And all 3 got published! It was a really long day. I had to drive to the East Bay at 5am to make a call time of 8am. It ran so late I didn't get to go on location because I had to make the drive back home too. But the experience was amazing. I really really hope I'll get to do it again with them. This magazine is very fashion forward and they push themselves with every issue to get better and more artistic. I love that! Check out the tearsheets here: (The model on the far bottom right is not my work).

Kennie's Doll Swim Suit 2011 Photoshoot
Bettter late then never....
I did the Swim Edition of Kennie's Doll Summer line 2011. I've done makeup before for the Spring 2011 line and it was an honor to be asked back! Joycelyn the designer and gorgeous model, is super talented and makes the most beautiful clothes! I can't wait to see what she has in store for the future!
The themes for the shoots were Rock and Roll/Edgy, Vintage Pin Up, and Sports Illustrated. Can you guess which is which?

Fun Holiday Sexy Santa Look- How to get it!
Good morning everyone! Here is my Santa Pub Crawl look from last weekend. If you have this event in your town, you need to go! It was so fun seeing everyone dressed up in all kinds of Santa's cruising all the Pub's in Old Folsom. We saw a million Sexy Mrs. Claus's, Pimp Santa's, Hef Santa's, Classic Santa's, Elf's, Reindeer, Snow Princesses and so much more. Nearly everyone out was dressed up in something festive. I went with a sexier version of Mrs. Claus, but not too scandalous. Although I would not have been alone if I decided to go that route! Sorry the pics aren't so great it was taken on my Iphone. And it's the new one, geez. Here's how I got my look:
Eyes: All over the lid and brow bone, All that Glitters by MAC Cosmetics
Liner, MAC Fluidline in Blacktrak, winged out.
Lower Lash Liner, NYX Candy Glitter Liner in Jade Green.
Lower Lash Liner, NYX Candy Glitter Liner in Jade Green.
Face: Mary Kay Time Wise Matte Foundation in Beige 7. (I wanted a matte look to balance out all the sparkle I had on my eyes and the intensity on my lips. Also a matte foundation will hold up best with dancing all night long!
E.L.F. HD Translucent Powder.
Hair:
Curled in a 1" Curling iron all over with Sebatian setting spray. I also used two rows of human hair clip in extentions to add fullness. I curled them in a 1" curl too. I finished with Bed Head Hard Head spray to last all night.

And that's it! It was a very fast and simple look. You just have to know what colors will work together.
Here's a pic of all the fun friends we went out with. Isn't it awesome seeing all of those Santa's together!? What a fun night!
Here's to you and a joyous Holiday Season! I wish that in the New Year it brings a new perspective and many many blessings! XOXO, Michelle
